Instructional technologists get no shortage of media coverage, and deservedly so. But a companion job role that gets far too little attention is that of the library media specialist.
This job is a key one for assisting students with research, and with aiding teachers with technology implementation. In many communities, the library media specialist plays a supporting role to technology integration specialists, who work with teachers to implement technology into their curricula. If the community is not able to provide technology integration specialists, the role of the library media specialist is much more important.
